Why “Woven Tide?”
-The focus on a tide or the ocean is a reminder that strength and life in general are ever-changing and captures duality within the human experience, while being woven speaks to compassion and resilience being crucial threads knit together.
It is also a nod to growing up on the mid-Atlantic, an area known for passion, connection, and strength.
With a person-centered approach, I work to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore and process your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.
Consultation requests now available via Headway and Psychology Today! See more below.
About
My name is Aimee Heilig, LCSW-C (she/her).
I have worked professionally in the mental health field in various roles since about 2018 and like many other therapists/providers, have personal connections to this work as well. I care deeply about being able to offer compassionate, quality care and believe greatly in the power of having a safe, non-biased space to process both challenging and joyous parts of life and the ways we may be continuously impacted.
Your therapy should be as unique as you are. I’m here to offer a collaborative space where you can process your experiences, thoughts, feelings, and story at your own pace and be in the driver's seat. We'll strive to find a mix of tools that make sense for your life, pulling from various evidence-based methods (without leaving you in the dark). Mental health is a vital part of overall wellness, and I'm passionate about helping you get the support you deserve. We'll explore your brain's “air traffic control system,” and figure out how it best manages and sorts information.
I am passionate about the fact that mental health is a major component of the overall health and wellness of all persons. I believe in the inherent potential of every individual and find it incredibly rewarding to witness people overcome obstacles, develop new coping strategies, and work toward self-actualization and enhanced self-worth. I consider it a privilege to be a part of your journey.
I work with adults 19+, specializing in generalized anxiety, social anxiety, complex trauma, ADHD and Autism, PMDD, life with chronic illnesses, and relational challenges. While I see anyone older than 19, I very much enjoy working with young adults or those navigating life transitions.
Please book a free, 10-15 minute consultation where we can explore if therapy with me in a virtual setting could be the right fit. At this time, I am able to offer occasional Friday morning/early afternoon and Sunday morning/early afternoon sessions. You must be in the state of Maryland for all appointments. Please see my Headway profile for more details with how to book and current insurance plans accepted/self-pay rates.
In our first session together, I will compassionately gauge what is most important to you, where you have been, and where you want to be. We will discuss aspects of your personal and treatment histories so that I can build understanding, as well as anything else that would be important (or fun) for me to know!
I will also be working on offering consultation for organizations in the future; stay tuned!
